Daniel Kirk grew up listening to traditional literature, modern fantasy literature, poems and Nonfiction literature. His parents were puppeteers who love to read and tell stories to him. When Daniel was young he loved playing with clay and drawing pictures. He also loved the characters in the Dr. Suess books who talked and dressed up in clothes. Daniel attended Ohio University where he majored in Education and Fine Arts.He graduated from Ohio University in 1974 he taught Art and Photograph for a few years he then changed careers and he became a Professional Artist. "Mr. Kirk work work was displayed in Newsweek, Business Week, Sports Illustrated, New York Magazine and many others. He has made posters, postage stamps, billboards, grocery store packages, CDs and book jackets by the score. His illustrations helped sell stereos, cell phones, postal services, fertilizer, gourmet coffee, salsa and soda. His pictures were being used to express other people’s ideas, sell other people’s products and tell other people’s stories." He knew it was time to branch out on his own and start writting and illustrating his own work. Mr. Kirk visits school in his New Jersey area he brings The Library Mouse character with him at times so they can sing and entertain the students at the school He also does free skype for schools that aren't in the New Jersey area.
